Join Astronaut Scholarship Foundation on Friday, November 5, 2010 for an incredible afternoon of tribute and excitement as we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) with a special luncheon! On July 17, 1975, history was made as the American Apollo and Soviet Soyuz spacecrafts united in space. The ASTP mission united three astronauts — Tom Stafford, Vance Brand and Deke Slayton — and two cosmonauts — Alexei Leonov and Valery Kubasov — in the first human space flight mission to be jointly managed by two nations. Thirty-five years later, American astronauts Stafford and Brand will come together at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to commemorate three-and-a-half decades of international cooperation in space at this special event.
